Rita Meier, is the Nevada Public Affairs Specialist for the Social Security

 

Administration.

 

 In her position she gives presentations to a variety of audiences and special groups on the

 

importance of the Social Security programs, coordinates exhibits at fairs, conventions and

 

seminars. 

 

Serves as a contact with news media, community organizations and advocacy groups on

 

 Social Security’s program policies.  Conducts customer service training to current employees

 

and new hires to the agency.

 

Before joining the Social Security Administration, she was employed by former U.S. Senator

 

Richard Bryan, as a Constituent Services Representative, during his two terms in office.

 

Rita has been a resident of Las Vegas for over 35 years and considers herself a native Las Vegan.

 

She has volunteered for various organizations in the Las Vegas community and has received

 

 certificates of appreciation including the Certificate of Recognition from the Senate of the

 

United States; Social Security Administration’s Regional Commissioner’s Citation and Office of

 

Communications Deputy Commissioner’s Citation.
